This Imperial Stout presents a commanding sensory profile, pouring jet black with an imposing presence. The 10% ABV manifests as a sophisticated warmth that integrates seamlessly with deep, roasty layers of bittersweet chocolate and espresso. Aromas of black licorice and tar mingle with a rich tapestry of dried fruits, specifically raisins and figs, reminiscent of the classic Russian Imperial Stout tradition. On the palate, the beer is dense and velvety, balancing aggressive hop bitterness against a sturdy backbone of burnt grain and caramel. It finishes with a long, complex aftertaste of dark cocoa and refined alcohol, embodying a harmonious yet powerful character.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Features a thick, persistent deep tan head with excellent lacing. High viscosity is evident through visible legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee, and a hint of tar. Moderate esters evoke dried plum and black currant, complemented by a low earthy hop aroma and smooth alcohol.
