Drawing inspiration from Viking lore and the strength of traditional mead, this Belgian Dubbel pours a deep, radiant amber. The sensory experience is dominated by a complex, rich malt foundation that yields flavors of caramelized sugar and toasted bread, reminiscent of the sweet character prized by the gods of Valhalla. High-toned esters of raisins and plums intertwine with peppery phenols from the Belgian yeast strain. At 8.7% ABV, it carries a more potent presence than typical examples, offering a smooth, warming depth. A subtle herbal hop presence balances the luscious malt, culminating in a deceptively dry and regal finish.
Appearance. Dark amber to deep copper with reddish highlights; brilliant clarity. Topped with a large, dense, and long-lasting creamy off-white head.
Aroma. Moderately strong intensity featuring a rich malty profile of caramelized sugar and toasted crust. Pronounced fruity esters of raisins, plums, and dried figs are balanced by low peppery phenols and a soft, perfumy alcohol note. Hop aroma is absent.
Taste. Initial malt-forward sweetness with flavors of caramel and toast. Complex esters of dark fruit like plum and raisin are prominent, supported by moderate peppery yeast phenols. Medium-low bitterness ensures the malt remains the focus. The finish is moderately dry with a lingering malty and spicy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Smooth, medium-full body with high carbonation that adds a refreshing lift. Noticeable alcohol warmth is present but remains well-integrated and never solventy.

Hornbeer, Raven er brygget i Vikingernes land Lejre, til ære for Odin, andre guder og godtfolk. På bryggeriet ser og hører man ofte to ravne flyve rundt. Vi er sikre på at det er Hugin og Munin, Odins ravne som er ude og finde nyheder til ham, og hvilket sted er bedre at lede end på Hornbeer. Raven er en ravfarvet og sødlig øl, ikke så sød som gudernes tidligere yndlingsdrik Mjöd, men lige så høj i alc. % og det er noget guderne kan lide. I Valhalla er vi sikre på at Mjöd nu er udskiftet med Raven, og derfor forbeholder vi os retten til at kalde os ”Leverandør til de nordiske guder”.
