Night Shift Vintage 2024 presents an indulgent sensory experience, evolving from a classic Imperial Stout base into a complex dessert-like masterpiece. The initial impression is dominated by an intense aroma of toasted hazelnuts and rich, buttery caramel, underpinned by deep dark chocolate and Bourbon-soaked oak. On the palate, the decadent sweetness of the caramel is expertly balanced by roasted malt bitterness and the earthy, nutty character of crushed hazelnuts. The 11.8% ABV provides a smooth, integrated whiskey warmth that lingers through a velvety, full-bodied finish. With its viscous, jet-black appearance and dark tan foam, this vintage highlights the harmonious marriage of barrel-aged finesse and pastry-inspired ingredients.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40 SRM). Topped with a thick, deep tan head that shows moderate retention. High viscosity is evident by prominent legs forming on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of dark chocolate, cocoa, and roasted coffee. Strong secondary notes of toasted hazelnut and sweet caramel are complemented by Bourbon-derived vanilla, charred oak, and a hint of spicy whiskey. Low dark fruit esters of prune and raisin are present.

Taste. Rich and multi-layered initial impression of sweet caramel and roasted grain. Malt flavors of dark chocolate and toasted bread support a prominent hazelnut presence. Bitterness is moderate to high, providing necessary balance against the sweetness. The finish is long and bittersweet, featuring lingering notes of vanilla, oak, and warming alcohol without being cloying.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, viscous, and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, gentle alcohol warmth is noticeable and well-integrated into the finish.
