This Imperial Stout presents a deep, imposing profile, pouring jet black with a persistent, creamy brown head. The sensory experience is led by an intense interplay of caramel and heavily roasted malts, evoking notes of bittersweet chocolate, dark espresso, and toasted bread. Subtle undertones of dried figs and raisins emerge as it warms, supported by a moderate, earthy hop presence. At 9% ABV, a smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth provides a structural backbone without becoming sharp. The finish is long and complex, transitioning from a rich, malty sweetness to a clean, roasty bitterness that lingers pleasantly on the palate.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40 SRM). Features a dense, creamy dark brown head with excellent retention and significant lacing. High viscosity is apparent in the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominant aromas of roasted coffee, dark cocoa, and rich caramel. Secondary notes of black licorice and dried plum provide depth. Hop aroma is low and earthy, while a gentle, clean alcohol presence is noticeable.

Taste. Intensely flavored with an initial hit of burnt grain and dark chocolate. Mid-palate reveals layers of caramel sweetness and toasted malt. Bitterness is firm and assertive, balancing the high gravity. Fermentation is clean, with light esters of dark fruit. The finish is bittersweet, roasty, and lingering.
