This massive Imperial Stout presents an imposing sensory profile defined by its exceptional density and 16.6% ABV. The experience begins with an intense bouquet of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and scorched grain, layered with deep esters of dried figs, prunes, and black currants. A thick, chewy, and decadent texture carries heavy notes of black licorice and toasty caramel, balanced by a firm hop bitterness that cuts through the significant residual sweetness. The finish is long and warming, evolving into a complex, port-like character with a lingering roast. It is a harmonious yet powerful expression of the style, emphasizing viscosity and a velvety mouthfeel.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM); pours with a small, dense, dark tan head that shows low retention due to high alcohol content; prominent legs and high viscosity are visible on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of dark chocolate, coffee, and slightly burnt grain; pronounced dark fruit esters resembling raisins and plums; noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth with a light caramel sweetness and no harsh solvent notes.

Taste. Intense initial impression of roasted malts, cocoa, and espresso; complex malt flavors of bread crust and black licorice; firm bitterness (60+ IBU context) provides essential balance to the malt weight; deep fruitiness and a warming, bittersweet finish that lingers with a clean, roasty aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, viscous, and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture; low to moderate carbonation; significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present throughout; zero astringency.
