This Double IPA delivers a vibrant sensory experience defined by a complex dry-hop addition of Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, and Citra. The aroma is dominated by Nelson Sauvin’s signature crushed white grape and gooseberry, complemented by the zesty lime and tropical fruit notes of Motueka. Citra provides a solid foundation of bright grapefruit and subtle resin. On the palate, the 8% ABV is seamlessly integrated into a lean, clean malt profile, allowing the hop-derived bitterness to lead into a crisp, dry finish. This collaboration highlights modern hop saturation, balancing intense fruit character with high drinkability and a smooth, lingering hop presence.
Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light copper with a slight, modern haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent white head with fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of white wine, gooseberry, fresh lime zest, and grapefruit. Background notes of tropical passion fruit and a hint of pine over a very low, neutral, grainy malt character.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical and citrus hop flavors, specifically lime and grapefruit, followed by a mid-palate of white grape. Bitterness is high but smooth and lacking harshness. The malt is soft and unobtrusive, supporting a very dry finish with a long, clean, hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp bite that enhances the dry finish. Features a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth without solvent notes.
