This Hazy IPA presents an intriguing sensory fusion, blending the vibrant, tropical essence of New World hops with the refined, aromatic profile of Colombian coffee grain. Pouring a glowing, opaque gold, it releases a high-intensity bouquet where juicy pineapple and zesty citrus collide with the delicate, red-berry acidity and toasted nuttiness of the beans from Groundstate Coffee Roaster. The palate is defined by a plush, pillowy mouthfeel, carrying flavors of mango and passionfruit that transition into a clean, lightly roasted coffee finish. The soft bitterness ensures a smooth, fruit-forward experience, highlighting the unique interplay between tropical hop notes and specialty coffee.
Appearance. Color is light amber with an orange hue; opaque and hazy with a characteristic shine. It supports a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aromas of mango, pineapple, and citrus zest are layered with the distinctive scent of Colombian coffee, offering notes of red berries and light cocoa. Malt is neutral and grainy in the background, with no caramel or toast present.
Taste. High fruity hop flavors of passionfruit and orange lead the palate, followed by a nuanced coffee character that provides berry-like acidity rather than harsh roast. Malt flavor is low and bready. Perceived bitterness is moderate but soft, leading to a medium-dry finish that lingers with juicy fruit.
