Headlights is a vivid Hazy IPA that leads with a powerful aromatic profile driven by Nelson Sauvin and Citra hops. The Nelson Sauvin contribution is unmistakable, offering elegant notes of white wine, crushed gooseberry, and lychee, while the Citra adds a vibrant layer of passion fruit and zesty citrus. This intense hop expression is supported by a soft, velvety malt base composed of Extra Pale Maris Otter, Wheat, and Oats, which lends a smooth, bready foundation without distracting from the fruit-forward character. The result is a lush, juicy experience that remains remarkably drinkable with a gentle, restrained bitterness and a soft finish.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4-5 SRM) with a deep, uniform haze providing a soft shine. Pours with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that shows excellent retention and leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet. Dominant notes of white grape, tropical passion fruit, and bright citrus peel. A subtle background of bready, grainy malt from the Maris Otter and wheat is present. Clean fermentation profile with very light fruity esters that complement the hop character.
Taste. Explodes with fruity hop flavors of lychee, gooseberry, and tropical citrus. Low to moderate bitterness is well-integrated and never harsh, balanced by a light, bready malt sweetness. The finish is soft and off-dry with a lingering impression of tropical fruit juice and white wine, free of any sharp or resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable velvety smoothness provided by the oats and wheat. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a soft, rounded texture. No astringency or harshness; a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
