This vibrant Berliner Weisse, crafted for the GABS Festival, showcases an intense tropical profile. The sensory experience is led by a high-intensity aroma of fresh passionfruit, which layers over the traditional clean lactic acidity. On the palate, a sharp sourness provides a refreshing snap, harmonizing with explosive passionfruit flavors. A subtle, doughy wheat malt character provides a necessary foundation, though the finish remains decidedly dry and crisp. The elevated strength for the style adds a hint of substance to the mouthfeel without detracting from its effervescent, thirst-quenching nature, resulting in a bright and lively summer treat.

Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (3–4 SRM). Pours with a large, dense white head that exhibits poor retention. Clarity is slightly hazy, likely due to the heavy fruit addition and wheat malt content.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by sharp, tangy passionfruit and a clean, lactic sourness. Beneath the tropical fruit, a low, doughy, raw bread wheat character is present. No hop aroma or fermentation byproducts like diacetyl are perceived.

Taste. An assertive lactic tartness is the initial impression, immediately followed by a burst of tropical passionfruit flavor. A light, grainy wheat malt presence supports the acidity. Hop bitterness is undetectable, and there is no hop flavor. The finish is very dry, clean, and refreshingly sour with a lingering fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body, slightly fuller than traditional examples due to the 5% ABV. Very high carbonation creates a lively, spritzy sensation on the tongue. Crisp acidity provides a mouth-watering quality without astringency.
