Two Steppin is a modern German Pils that bridges traditional European lager crispness with vibrant New World character. Light Munich Malt and Caramalt provide a deep golden foundation, offering toasted cracker and light honey notes. Northern Brewer hops deliver classic noble spice and herbal undertones that anchor the finish. The addition of Talus and Mosaic in the whirlpool transforms the profile, introducing nuanced layers of tropical fruit and subtle citrus. Fermented with a traditional lager yeast, this lager remains clean and refreshing while possessing a surprisingly full-bodied mouthfeel that balances classic German tradition with contemporary, hop-forward innovation.
Appearance. Deep golden color (4–6 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a clean fermentation profile. Malt character is doughy and lightly toasted from the Light Munich Malt, accompanied by a touch of honey. Hop aroma is complex, featuring spicy and herbal Northern Brewer notes alongside tropical fruit and light citrus scents from the Mosaic and Talus additions.
Taste. The initial impression is crisp and bitter, quickly followed by a bready and slightly caramelly malt richness. Hop flavors mirror the aroma, showing woody and spicy Northern Brewer qualities followed by tropical fruit highlights. Bitterness is firm and assertive but not harsh. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering noble hop spice and a subtle fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body, providing more weight than a standard pilsner. Carbonation is moderate to high, lending a refreshing, crisp bite. Smooth and clean without any perceived alcohol warmth or astringency.
