This Buffalo Trace barrel-aged Imperial Stout offers an opulent sensory experience, seamlessly merging intense roast with decadent adjuncts. The aroma is dominated by rich Brazilian coffee and deep cocoa nibs, interwoven with the fragrant marshmallow and woody spice of Madagascar vanilla bean. The spirit aging imparts sophisticated notes of bourbon, toasted oak, and caramel. On the palate, the addition of oats provides a luxurious, velvety texture that carries flavors of dark chocolate and espresso. It finishes with a harmonious balance of roasted bitterness and a smooth, lingering alcoholic warmth that highlights the complex interplay of the barrel and specialty ingredients.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. It features a dense, deep tan head with moderate retention, leaving noticeable oily legs on the glass after swirling.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of freshly roasted coffee, bittersweet cocoa, and black licorice. Prominent Buffalo Trace barrel character provides bourbon, toasted oak, and sweet vanilla.
