Resin Hell is a pungent American IPA defined by an aggressive hop profile. Simcoe and Chinook lead the sensory charge with intense pine resin, forest floor, and grapefruit zest, while Columbus introduces a dank, herbal pungency. The malt base, composed of Extra Pale and Imperial malt, offers a clean, grainy foundation with a whisper of bready sweetness. Chit malt contributes to a satisfying texture, supporting the massive hop load. Fermented with WLP002, the beer shows a faint, clean pear ester that softens the edges of the sharp, lingering bitterness. It finishes dry and decidedly hop-forward, leaving a sticky, resinous coating on the palate.

Appearance. Medium gold color (8 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours a dense, off-white head with excellent persistence and thick, soapy lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by pine needles, resin, and pungent grapefruit. Simcoe and Chinook provide a forest-like quality, while Columbus adds an earthy, dank note. Low grainy-sweet maltiness with very light esters from the WLP002 yeast.

Taste. Bold initial bitterness followed by layered hop flavors of resin, pithy citrus, and dried herbs. The Extra Pale and Imperial malt provide a clean, bready backbone that prevents the bitterness from becoming harsh. Finishes very dry and crisp with a long-lasting, resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, creamy texture enhanced by the Chit malt. Moderate-high carbonation with a subtle, clean alcohol warmth and no astringency.
