Magonia is an intense Double IPA defined by a complex tapestry of New World hops. The aroma and flavor explode with tropical pineapple from BRU-1 and creamy coconut notes from Sabro Cryo. Nelson Sauvin contributes distinct white wine and gooseberry accents, while Pacifica and Wakatu add bright layers of orange marmalade and lime zest. A clean, slightly bready backbone of Golden Promise and Chit malt provides a soft, supportive platform for this massive hop profile. Zappa and McKenzie bring depth with spicy, resinous, and grapefruit notes. It finishes dry with a firm, lingering bitterness and a well-integrated warmth typical of the style.

Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light orange-copper (SRM 7-9) with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves substantial lacing. Clarity is good to brilliant, with only a very faint haze common in modern heavily dry-hopped examples.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of pineapple, lime, and tropical fruit esters. Distinctive notes of gooseberry and white wine are prominent, layered over subtle coconut and orange marmalade. The malt character is clean and neutral-grainy, with a very low background sweetness and a touch of floral alcohol.

Taste. Strong hop-forward flavors of tropical fruit, grapefruit, and spicy resin dominate the palate. Initial impressions of pineapple and lime are followed by a firm, moderately high bitterness. The Golden Promise malt provides a light, bready support that never becomes heavy. The finish is dry to medium-dry, leaving a lingering hop bitterness and a clean, fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture from the protein-rich grains. Carbonation is medium-high, contributing to a lively mouthfeel. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is present but integrated, lacking any harsh solvent-like or astringent qualities.
