Lost Carcosa is a gargantuan Double IPA that pushes the boundaries of the style with a staggering 16% ABV. A lush grist of wheat malt, oat flakes, and chit malt creates a dense, silky canvas for a sophisticated hop profile featuring Pacifica, Citra, Cryo Pop, and Super Sauvin. The London Ale III yeast drives a vibrant fermentation profile of stone fruit and melon, harmonizing with intense notes of overripe tropical fruit, zesty citrus, and crushed gooseberry. While formidable in strength, it maintains a structured bitterness, finishing with a lingering, warming complexity that showcases the pinnacle of modern hop innovation.

Appearance. Deep gold to burnished orange-copper (SRM 8–12). Opaque with a heavy haze and a dense, persistent, off-white head that leaves substantial lacing.

Aroma. Intense hop presence featuring ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright lime from Citra and Cryo Pop, alongside a distinct white grape and floral berry note from Super Sauvin and Pacifica. A soft, doughy, sweet-grain malt character persists in the background with a noticeable but well-integrated alcohol perfume.

Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of saturated tropical fruit and citrus zest. A moderate malty sweetness is quickly balanced by a firm, resinous bitterness. Notes of peach and apricot esters from the yeast blend with hop-derived grapefruit and melon. The finish is surprisingly clean for the ABV, though a significant, smooth alcohol warmth and a lingering hop bitterness remain.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a creamy, velvety texture from the oat flakes and wheat. Carbonation is moderate. Significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being harsh or solventy.

Madness, they would call it. They'd be right. Not sure what weird, ancient pages inspired this next one. 🫨 We've gone done it and brewed a 16% hazy IPA - a triple dry hopped sextuple New England IPA. Yep, read that again from the start.🤯 LOST CARCOSA rests on the remains of an absolute ton of hops, sacrificed to this beast bit by bit in all stages of its... maturation. A big dish of Pacifica and Citra hops provide the backbone on the hot side, then Super Sauvin and Cryo Pop went in at many different stages of fermentation, with extra-juicy results. 🪓🔪🗡️ It's a huge bowl of fruit punch, fortified. Party mode. Canned pineapple juice galore, not too syrupy even for its... girth. Musty white grapes and overripe yellow berries, soft lychee, mango and coconut pudding, touch of passion fruit zing. Not too bitter, not overly sweet, but balanced enough to hide its monstruous ABV. 🥭🍍🥥 Dangerously juicy. 💀

Az India Pale Ale (IPA) az újhullámos kisüzemi sörfőzés legmeghatározóbb stílusa, eredete egészen az indiai angol gyarmatosításig nyúl vissza. Ez a történet szolgált alapul az amerikai kisüzemi sörforradalom elindulásához nagyjából az 1980-as években, ekkor kezdtek a főzdék hasonló stílusban, rendkívül izgalmas komlóhangsúlyos, ezáltal illatos és keserű söröket főzni.
