Loats of Ideas is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases the textural impact of Flaked oats and Extra Pale malts. The aroma is dominated by a lush, tropical punch from Mosaic Cryo and the complex stone fruit and citrus profile of HBC 638. On the palate, expect a burst of mango, blueberry, and melon, supported by a soft, pillowy mouthfeel characteristic of the London Ale III yeast strain. This collaboration between Hop Hooligans and Strange Brew delivers a highly drinkable experience where hop saturation is prioritized over sharp bitterness, leading to a smooth, juicy finish with a lingering fruity glow.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4-6 SRM). Deeply hazy to opaque with a glowing shine. Topped by a dense, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Waves of tropical mango, ripe pineapple, and bright citrus from Mosaic Cryo and HBC 638. Background notes of bready, neutral malt and a hint of sweet grain from the Flaked oats. Clean fermentation with subtle fruity esters.
Taste. Explosive hop flavors of melon, berry, and stone fruit. Malt is supportive, providing a soft cracker and bready foundation. Bitterness is low to moderate, well-integrated and never harsh. Finishes off-dry and exceptionally juicy with a clean, fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a noticeably soft, silky texture derived from the heavy use of Flaked oats. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol warmth is light and well-hidden. Completely smooth with no hop astringency.
