This decadent English Barley Wine presents a masterful fusion of traditional brewing and pastry-inspired luxury. A complex grain bill featuring Extra pale, English Caramalt, Aromatic malt, and Crystal extra dark provides a deep, bready foundation rich with toffee and dark fruit character. Infusions of cocoa nibs and vanilla create a luscious, chocolatey depth, while a warm dusting of cinnamon adds a spiced, mesmerising complexity. At 12% ABV, the presence of English hops provides just enough earthy balance to the gooey, dessert-like intensity. It is a full-bodied, velvet-textured sipper that evolves from spiced sweetness into a lingering, wine-like finish.

Appearance. Deep mahogany to dark brown with rich ruby highlights (20-22 SRM). It features a moderate off-white head with fair retention and significant viscosity, evidenced by visible legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with very rich, bready, and toasty malt alongside heavy caramel and toffee. Prominent scents of dark chocolate, spicy cinnamon, and sweet vanilla bean are present. Subtle earthy hop notes and moderate dark fruit esters, like raisin and plum, complement a soft, rounded alcohol presence.

Taste. An initial impression of decadent malt sweetness and chocolate. Complex layers of English Caramalt and Crystal extra dark offer deep toffee and biscuit flavors. Cocoa nibs provide mid-palate richness, balanced by sharp cinnamon spice and smooth vanilla. Hop bitterness is moderate but restrained, leading to a sweet, gooey, and lingering finish with a soft vinous character.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. A smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being harsh. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the creaminess.
