Gothic Noir is a striking Specialty IPA that masterfully balances shadowy malt depth with a luminous hop profile. The foundation of Golden Promise and Munich malts provides a rich, bready sweetness, while Carafa Special Type 3 and Sinamar deliver a deep onyx color with restrained notes of cocoa. A complex hop blend of Simcoe, Mosaic, Azacca, Eclipse, and Citra drives the sensory experience, offering intense layers of resinous pine, grapefruit zest, and tropical mango. At 8% ABV, it presents a clean fermentation profile via BRY-97 yeast, resulting in a smooth, medium-bodied beer that finishes with a firm, drying bitterness and sophisticated warmth.

Appearance. Deep ebony to black (35-40 SRM) and opaque in the glass. It features a dense, persistent tan head with excellent retention and significant lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring resinous pine, dank herbs, and bright citrus zest. Secondary notes of mango, melon, and sweet mandarin are present. Malt is moderate-low, offering hints of toasted bread and light chocolate without any burnt or acrid character.

Taste. High hop bitterness is immediate, followed by flavors of grapefruit, pine resin, and tropical fruit. The malt provides a supportive, grainy-sweet richness with subtle notes of coffee and dark chocolate. It possesses a clean fermentation character and a dry, lingering finish where the roast and hops harmonize without clashing.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Moderate carbonation provides a crisp lift, while a noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present on the swallow. Low astringency.
