This Baltic Porter delivers a formidable sensory experience, anchored by a robust base of Golden Promise and Munich malts that provide deep, bready richness. A complex layering of Smoked malt adds a subtle savory whisper, while Chocolate Rye and Carafa Type 2 Spezial contribute smooth, spicy cocoa and coffee notes without acridity. The aroma is saturated with dark fruit and molasses, brightened unexpectedly by resinous Simcoe and the idiosyncratic citrus-herbal touch of Sorachi Ace hops. At 10% ABV, it offers a velvety, warming profile where vinous dark fruit meets a clean lager finish, expertly balancing intense malt sweetness with firm bitterness.

Appearance. Opaque dark brown with deep mahogany highlights (SRM 30+). Features a thick, persistent, tan-colored head with dense, creamy lacing.

Aroma. High intensity of rich Munich maltiness featuring caramel, toffee, and deep toast. Significant dark fruit esters of prunes, raisins, and black currants. Subtle campfire notes from Smoked malt and spicy Chocolate Rye are present. Hop character is moderate, displaying piney Simcoe and earthy Columbus notes with a faint lemon-herb hint from Sorachi Ace.

Taste. Rich initial impression of malty sweetness with layers of molasses, licorice, and dark chocolate. Prominent but smooth roasted flavors from Carafa Type 2 Spezial provide coffee-like depth without burnt astringency. Hop bitterness is moderate-firm, balancing the malt through a drying, slightly spicy finish. Complex aftertaste of dried fruit, cocoa, and a hint of wood smoke.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a smooth, mouth-filling texture. Carbonation is moderate to medium-high, preventing heaviness. Noticeable alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated and smooth, with a creamy mouth-coating quality.
