Crawling Distance V2 is an intensely aromatic Double IPA that balances power with a lush, velvety texture. A complex grain bill featuring Golden Promise and Heidelberg malt provides a soft, bready foundation, while a generous addition of Oat malt, Oat flakes, and Wheat malt creates a substantial, creamy mouthfeel. The hop profile is vibrant and multifaceted; Sabro Cryo introduces distinct coconut and cream notes, harmonizing with the tropical berry character of Mosaic T90. Kohia Nelson Hop Kief adds a sophisticated white grape and gooseberry finish, supported by the floral-citrus punch of HBC 522. Fermented with London Ale III, it delivers a smooth, fruity profile with a clean, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange-copper (6-9 SRM). Large, persistent, off-white creamy head with excellent lacing. Hazy to opaque appearance due to high protein malts and yeast strain.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of coconut, mango, and passion fruit, alongside distinct white wine and gooseberry. Background malt is grainy and slightly sweet, reminiscent of biscuit. Lightly fruity esters of peach and stone fruit.
Taste. Initial burst of tropical fruit, citrus, and creamed coconut. Prominent flavors of white grape and mixed berries. Moderately high bitterness that remains smooth and non-harsh. Clean, soft malt backbone provides support without cloying sweetness. Finish is medium-dry with a long, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and silkiness. Moderate carbonation. Smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated. No hop-derived astringency.
