Hop Hooligans

This Imperial Stout delivers a decadent sensory experience, built upon a massive grist of Munich, Pale chocolate, DRC, and Roasted Barley. Using WLP001 yeast to ensure a clean profile, the beer showcases intense aromas of dark cocoa and espresso. The addition of maple syrup and cinnamon introduces a rich, woody sweetness and spicy warmth that mimics a walk through a mystic forest. It pours a viscous, opaque black with a thick tan head. Each sip is a complex tapestry of burnt sugar and dark fruit esters, finishing with a velvety mouthfeel and a lingering, spicy cinnamon heat.

Appearance. Jet black (40+ SRM) and completely opaque. It features a dense, creamy, deep tan head with moderate retention and significant lacing. High viscosity is apparent through visible legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring a rich blend of roasted grain, bittersweet chocolate, and coffee. The maple syrup contributes a distinct woody sweetness, while cinnamon adds a spicy, earthy top note. Low dark fruit esters of prune and raisin are supported by a clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial impression of intense sweetness and roasted depth. Flavors of dark chocolate, charred grain, and black licorice are prominent. Maple syrup provides a mid-palate richness, while cinnamon lingers into the finish. Bitterness is moderate to firm, balancing the thick malt body. The finish is long, warming, and bittersweet.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, significant alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the high strength without becoming sharp or hot.
