51 Shake is an opulent Fruit Beer that reimagines the modern IPA as a decadent tropical elixir. Pouring with the density of a fruit smoothie, it presents an intense fusion of pineapple and banana puree, layered over a rich foundation of coconut cream. The hop profile is equally bold, utilizing Idaho 7 and Azacca to amplify the stone fruit and citrus depths, while Sabro Cryo introduces a distinctive herbal, coconut-edged spice. Despite its opaque, tropical appearance and thick, velvety mouthfeel, the beer retains a firm hoppy backbone, balancing the lush fruit sugars with a lingering, resinous complexity and a touch of spicy bitterness.

Appearance. SRM 4–6; opaque and dense, resembling a pale yellow fruit smoothie or "tropical concrete." It features a thick, creamy, white head with moderate retention that leaves persistent lacing despite the adjunct oils.

Aroma. High intensity with a dominant tropical fruit profile of ripe pineapple and creamy banana. Distinctive coconut notes from both the coconut cream and Sabro Cryo hops emerge early. These are supported by secondary notes of mango, apricot, and a light piney resin from the Idaho 7 and Azacca hops, with a clean, doughy malt background.

Taste. Initial impression is a wave of sweet pineapple and rich banana puree, quickly followed by a lush coconut creaminess. The hop flavor is assertive, providing tropical citrus and a unique woody, spicy edge from the Sabro Cryo. Bitterness is moderate but firm, providing enough structure to cut through the heavy fruit sugars. The finish is long and lingering, tasting of tropical fruit nectar and a clean hop resin.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and highly viscous with a thick, smooth, and creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to help lift the heavy weight of the purees. Alcohol warmth is low and well-integrated at 6% ABV, with no noticeable astringency.

Az India Pale Ale (IPA) az újhullámos kisüzemi sörfőzés legmeghatározóbb stílusa, eredete egészen az indiai angol gyarmatosításig nyúl vissza. A kereskedők úgy szerették volna optimalizálni a hosszú és drága hajóutat, hogy erősebb és több komló felhasználásával készült, így keserűbb, testesebb, ízesebb, ráadásul tartósabb söröket főznek, majd ezeket helyben, már felvizezett formában kínálják. Ezt gyakran az állomásozó katonák nem várták meg és csapra verték a jóval kedvesebb főzeteket. Ez a történet szolgált alapul az amerikai kisüzemi sörforradalom elindulásához nagyjából az 1980-as években, ekkor kezdtek a főzdék hasonló stílusban, rendkívül izgalmas komlóhangsúlyos, ezáltal illatos és keserű söröket főzni.
