This decadent Imperial Stout, a collaboration between Hooglander Bier, De Brouwschuur, and Strieper Craft Beer Company, presents a sensory profile akin to a liquid bonbon. Intense aromas of dark cocoa and sweet vanilla dominate the foreground, supported by a distinct cherry fruitiness that cuts through the rich, roasted malt base. On the palate, it is unashamedly opulent and sweet, layering flavors of bittersweet chocolate and creamy vanilla bean over a tart cherry core. The experience is velvety and slow-sipping, with the 9.5% alcohol providing a gentle, integrated warmth that lingers alongside a decadent, dessert-like finish.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Pours with a dense, persistent deep tan head that leaves moderate lacing. Viscous texture is evident in the slow-forming legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. A rich bouquet of dark chocolate and cocoa is immediately apparent, followed closely by fragrant vanilla bean. Moderate esters of dark cherry and plum meld with subtle roasted coffee notes. Hop aroma is very low, allowing the adjuncts and malt complexity to lead.

Taste. Initial impression is richly sweet and creamy. Deep roasted malt provides a foundation of baker's chocolate and toasted bread.
