Awake Limbs offers a contemporary evolution of the German Pils, balancing traditional precision with modern hop aromatics. The use of German pilsner malt provides a crisp, cracker-like foundation, lightened further by white wheat and rice for a supremely clean, lean profile. A generous late-boil addition of Citra and Mandarina Bavaria shifts the classic profile toward vibrant notes of zesty citrus, tangerine, and soft tropical fruit, though the beer retains its essential lager snap. Fermented cold with a Bavarian strain and naturally conditioned for five weeks, it presents a brilliant clarity and a refined, lingering bitterness that defines its refreshing, bone-dry character.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold (2–3 SRM); brilliant clarity with a dense, creamy white head that exhibits excellent retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. Moderate-high intensity featuring bright tangerine and lime zest from Citra and Mandarina Bavaria hops, underpinned by low grainy-sweet malt and a hint of toasted cracker; exceptionally clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial toasted cracker malt flavor is quickly overtaken by a firm hop bitterness and flavors of citrus peel and soft stone fruit. The balance is hop-forward with a clean, minerally character. Finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering, pleasant bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, snappy texture enhanced by high natural carbonation; very smooth with no alcohol warmth and a clean, refreshing finish.
