Blended Golden Sour with Apricots
Sunsmasher is a golden sour beer fermented with Brettanomyces and aged on 250g/l Apricots. Blended from three different batches of base beer, all of which were brewed with local Dundee barley, wheat and oats. Of the three batches, two were completely unhopped providing deep citrus/peach acidity and subtle funk, whilst the third batch was lightly hopped, producing more intense tropical funk with a restrained acidity.
The resulting blend holds a good balance of these characteristics producing juicy tropical, stone fruit and citrus characters which complements the hefty addition of apricot.
