Sol Invictus is an exceptionally refreshing Fruit Beer that reimagines the traditional Radler through a wild fermentation lens. This low-ABV golden sour utilizes a complex blend of Brettanomyces to produce a tropical, funky backbone that supports a massive addition of fresh orange and lemon juice and zest. The sensory experience is dominated by bright, zesty citrus oils and tangy juice, complemented by the rustic, earthy notes characteristic of the mixed-culture fermentation. It presents a masterful balance between sharp lactic acidity and the pithy character of citrus peels, resulting in a lean, highly carbonated, and restorative summer ale.

Appearance. Pours a hazy, pale straw to sun-drenched gold with a brief, fizzy white head that dissipates quickly due to the acidity and fruit oils; light lacing is present.

Aroma. High intensity; immediate punch of fresh lemon zest and squeezed orange juice. This is layered over a funky Brettanomyces profile of pineapple, hay, and a light leathery note. Malt is nearly imperceptible.

Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, clean lactic sourness. Dominant flavors of tart lemon curd and juicy sweet orange transition into a mid-palate of tropical esters. Very low hop bitterness, with most bite coming from citrus pith and acidity. The finish is bone-dry and crisp.

Mouthfeel. Light-bodied and lean; high carbonation provides a prickly, refreshing scrub on the palate. No alcohol warmth. Very low astringency, primarily from the citrus zest.
