Hocus Pocus Bad Trip is an opulent and viscous Imperial Stout that masterfully integrates autumnal spices into a deep roasted malt foundation. At a formidable 13% ABV, it delivers a high-intensity sensory profile defined by bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and black licorice. The inclusion of real pumpkin adds a subtle earthy depth and contributes to a luscious, chewy texture, while a fragrant spice blend of cinnamon, warm nutmeg, and pungent clove provides a festive complexity. Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). It supports a thick, creamy, deep tan to dark brown head with moderate retention. Due to the high gravity and alcohol content, prominent legs are visible on the glass when swirled.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of dark chocolate, heavily roasted coffee, and molasses. The spice character is forward, showing aromatic cinnamon, earthy nutmeg, and a hint of medicinal clove. Low esters of dried plum and raisin are present, alongside a smooth, clean alcohol warmth.

Taste. Initial impression is intensely roasty and sweet. Deep flavors of cocoa powder, charred grain, and black coffee are layered with savory pumpkin and a sharp spice profile of cinnamon and clove. Bitterness is medium-high but softened by the residual sugar and spice oils. The finish is long and bittersweet, featuring lingering notes of dark malt and warming alcohol.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious, and coating texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A significant but smooth alcohol warmth is present, without being sharp or solventy.
