Dhustone Stout presents a sophisticated sensory profile that honors its British roots. Brewed with premium Maris Otter malting barley, it delivers a deeply toasted foundation with layers of dark chocolate and coffee. The hop bill of Fuggles, Progress, and Columbus introduces a nuanced earthy and herbal character that balances the inherent sweetness of the roasted grains. Distinctive liquorice notes weave through the palate, adding complexity to the smooth, easy-drinking character. As a bottle-conditioned Foreign Extra Stout, it offers a natural, soft carbonation that carries the rich, roasted intensity into a clean, moderately dry finish that remains exceptionally balanced despite its robust flavor profile.

Appearance. Very deep brown to black in color (approximately 35 SRM). It forms a large, creamy tan head with excellent retention and significant lacing. While the deep color obscures most clarity, the liquid is clear and bright when held to light, though sediment may be present due to bottle conditioning.

Aroma. Moderate to high roasted malt intensity, reminiscent of dark chocolate and lightly burnt coffee beans. The hop character is low to moderate, displaying the earthy, herbal, and slightly floral notes of Fuggles and Progress. Subtle aromatics of liquorice and molasses are present, accompanied by low yeast-derived esters.

Taste. Initial impression is of rich roasted grain and toasted Maris Otter malt. Flavors of bitter chocolate and espresso are prominent, without harsh or acrid edges. The Columbus hops provide a firm bitterness, supported by the earthy and spicy flavors of Fuggles. The finish is moderately dry with a lingering note of liquorice and roasted malt.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to moderately high, which helps lift the roasted weight. Despite being on the lower end of the style's typical ABV range, it possesses a well-integrated, gentle warmth and a clean, non-astringent mouthfeel.
