Aged on oak and Irish whiskey, it presents a bouquet of smooth vanilla and toasted wood that cushions the 8.8% ABV. The addition of licorice enhances the naturally dark, bready core, while dark fruit notes of plum and raisin emerge from the clean fermentation profile. Appearance. Opaque dark brown with deep ruby highlights at the edges (25–30 SRM). Topped by a thick, persistent, tan-colored head with fine lacing. Generally clear, though its depth makes it appear nearly opaque.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by rich malt notes of toasted bread, dark chocolate, and molasses. The whiskey aging contributes distinct oak tannins and smooth vanilla, while the licorice addition adds a sweet, herbal spice. Subtle esters of dried plum and cherry are present; no hop aroma.
Taste. Complex and smooth. Initial impression of sweet caramel and toffee gives way to a clean, debittered roast character reminiscent of coffee and dark chocolate.
