This American IPA serves as an assertive, hop-forward evolution of the brewery’s house pale ale, defined by an exclusive and heavy dry-hopping of Columbus hops. It presents a masterful balance of pungent resin and rustic complexity. Aromas of damp earth, spicy black pepper, and resinous pine dominate the profile, supported by a lean, cracker-like malt backbone. On the palate, the aggressive bitterness of the Columbus hops is tempered by a soft, signature mouthfeel, leading to a remarkably clean and bone-dry finish. It is a sophisticated yet intense study in single-hop expression, blending classic Pacific Northwest hop character with refined fermentation clarity.

Appearance. Pours a brilliant, deep gold to light amber (7-9 SRM) with a large, frothy white head that exhibits exceptional persistence and leaves dense, soapy lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pungent notes of pine resin, crushed herbs, and black pepper characteristic of Columbus, with subtle grapefruit zest. Low, clean, grainy-bready malt provides a neutral base, accompanied by very light, pear-like esters.

Taste. Initial impression is sharply hop-forward with a firm, lingering bitterness. Dominant flavors of resinous pine, dank earth, and citrus rind are balanced by a low, toasted bread malt character. The fermentation is clean, though a faint stone fruit ester is present. Finishes very dry and crisp with a persistent, clean hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a notably soft, smooth texture despite the hop intensity. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crisp, refreshing sting. Alcohol warmth is very low and well-integrated, with no astringency.
