American IPA 7 º
This American IPA offers an explosive sensory experience, showcasing a sophisticated hop profile derived from a collaborative recipe. The aroma is dominated by Citra and Mosaic, delivering punchy grapefruit zest and a distinctive blueberry note. Simcoe adds a layer of earthy depth, while Motueka introduces a subtle tropical nuance reminiscent of plum skin. On the palate, a lean, grainy malt base allows these hop characteristics to shine, supported by a firm but clean bitterness. The finish is remarkably dry and crisp, typical of a well-executed West Coast interpretation, leaving a refreshing and lingering citrus-forward aftertaste.
Appearance. Medium gold (7 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, persistent white head and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pungent grapefruit zest, fresh blueberry, and hints of ripe plum. Very low bready malt provides a neutral background. Clean fermentation profile with no significant esters.
Taste. Assertive hop-forward flavors mirroring the aroma: grapefruit pith, dark berries, and subtle tropical stone fruit. Low grainy malt presence. Firm bitterness that is clean and lacks harshness. Dry, crisp finish with a lingering zesty aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a crisp bite. A very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present. No astringency.
