This Imperial Stout offers a decadent sensory experience inspired by a hearty breakfast. The viscous, motor oil-like body carries intense layers of High Noon Coffee and rich, creamy chocolate malts. Sweet maple syrup provides a luscious coating on the palate, perfectly complemented by the aromatic warmth of cinnamon and the smoothing sweetness of vanilla. Despite the 8% ABV, the beer remains velvety and approachable, balancing the dark roast of the coffee against the decadent adjuncts. It is a harmonious fusion where the base stout’s dark fruit and roasted character serve as a canvas for the prominent specialty ingredients.
Appearance. Opaque, motor-oil black (40+ SRM). Thick, creamy tan head with excellent retention and dense lacing. The liquid appears heavy and viscous in the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Bold, fresh-roasted High Noon Coffee dominates, followed by sweet maple and dark chocolate. Mid-tones of spicy cinnamon and fragrant vanilla pods provide complexity. Low earthy hop notes and moderate dark fruit esters like plum and raisin emerge from the base style.
Taste. Initial impression is sweet and rich with layers of chocolate and maple syrup. The mid-palate introduces the moderate bitterness of High Noon Coffee and a subtle, warming cinnamon spice. Vanilla rounds out the edges, leading to a lingering finish of sweetened espresso and cocoa. Bitterness is moderate but balanced by high residual sugar, with no harshness from the spices.
Mouthfeel. Full, viscous, and creamy body. Moderate-low carbonation enhances the silkiness. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth. Smooth, non-astringent texture despite the coffee and spice additions.
