Saturdays Are For Chillin’ is a vibrant Double IPA that showcases an intensive dry-hop regimen of Simcoe, Citra, and Strata. It presents a punchy sensory profile defined by saturated tropical fruit and citrus. The Citra hops impart sharp grapefruit and lime zest, while Strata introduces unique notes of passion fruit and sweet strawberry. Simcoe rounds out the bouquet with a resinous, pine-forward depth. The palate follows the nose, delivering layered stone fruit flavors against a lean, neutral malt backdrop. A firm but smooth bitterness balances the 7.5% ABV, finishing dry with a lingering, resinous hop character.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (7-9 SRM). Opaque haze with a thick, persistent white head that leaves dense lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passion fruit, mango, and crushed berries. Supporting scents of grapefruit peel, pine needles, and a light dankness. Malt is low and neutral, providing a faint crackery base. Fermentation is clean.
Taste. Intense hop flavors of tropical fruit and citrus dominance. Initial flavors of strawberry and peach give way to sharp grapefruit and resinous pine. Bitterness is moderately high but smooth, avoiding harshness. The finish is dry with a lingering citrus rind and piney aftertaste. Malt character is soft and unobtrusive.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, without any hop-derived astringency.
