The sensory profile is defined by a concentrated burst of tropical fruit, with distinct notes of mango, guava, and lychee dominating the experience. Despite the 8.3% strength, the body remains lean and highly drinkable, as intended by the brewer to showcase the complex hop oils. The result is a 'saturated hop juice' effect that balances modern fruit-forward intensity with a clean fermentation profile, ensuring the hop complexity remains the central focus.
Appearance. Ranging from gold to a light orange-copper with a moderate-sized, persistent white head. While the style traditionally values clarity, this version displays a noticeable hazy opacity consistent with its 'cloud' namesake.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma characterized by prominent tropical fruit, mango, and stone fruit notes derived from HBC 586. A supportive, neutral, and grainy maltiness sits in the background, complemented by a clean fermentation profile and a very subtle, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of citrus, mango, and tropical juice lead the palate. The bitterness is moderately high but smooth, lacking any harshness. A low, clean, and soft malt character provides a lean backdrop, leading to a dry finish with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, and there is a restrained, well-integrated alcohol warmth that reflects its 8.3% ABV without being solventy or harsh.
