Midday is a tropical Double IPA that captures the essence of a creamy, beachside tiki drink. The hop profile, driven by Idaho 7 and Eclipse, delivers concentrated tangerine and citrus notes that meld seamlessly with the addition of peaches, passionfruit, and pineapple. The aroma leads with intense passionfruit and a comforting yellow sponge cake malt sweetness. On the palate, vivid flavors of candied pineapple and fruit roll ups are balanced by a clean orange rind bitterness. This collaboration achieves a lush, cloud-like texture that conceals its strength, finishing with a pleasant note of yellow hard candy.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (8 SRM), opaque and hazy. Features a dense, creamy, persistent white head with significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant tropical fruit esters and hop aromas of passionfruit and pineapple. Secondary notes of tangerine and citrus are supported by a clean, sweet, cake-like malt character.
Taste. Strong tropical fruit impact featuring candied pineapple and citrus. The Idaho 7 and Eclipse hops provide a tangerine-forward flavor alongside a moderate but soft bitterness. Malt is supportive and grainy, leading to a medium-dry finish with a lingering aftertaste of orange rind.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notably creamy and fluffy texture. Moderate carbonation provides a soft lift, while a well-integrated, moderate alcohol warmth is present without being solventy.
