This Soured Double IPA from Hallertau and Liberty Brewing delivers an electrifying sensory experience, merging the aggressive hop profile of a Double IPA with a bracing, clean acidity. At 8.5% ABV, it presents an intense aromatic display of grapefruit zest, resinous pine, and ripe mango. The palate is defined by a sharp, lactic tartness that amplifies the citrus-forward hop character while providing a lean, refreshing alternative to the style's typical weight. Finishing exceptionally dry and crisp, it balances high bitterness with a puckering brightness, supported by a neutral, grainy malt backbone and a smooth, integrated alcohol warmth that never becomes solventy.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (8-12 SRM) with a moderate-sized, persistent white head. Exhibits good clarity, though a slight, lean haze is acceptable for this modern iteration.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pungent notes of grapefruit, pine resin, and tropical stone fruit. A clean, neutral, grainy malt presence sits in the background, accompanied by a subtle, bright lactic sharpness and very low fruity yeast-derived esters.

Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, tart acidity followed by a strong hop flavor profile of citrus peel and resin. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but clean, lacking harshness. Low, supportive malt character allows the hop-acid interaction to dominate. Finishes bone-dry with a lingering hop bitterness and a refreshing, puckering aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture and medium-high carbonation. Alcohol warmth is noticeable but restrained and well-integrated. Low astringency despite the acidic profile and high hopping rate.
