This Imperial Stout from Brouwerij Van Steenberge is a powerhouse of dark sensory complexity, marrying the bold roasted traditions of an American Stout with distinctive Belgian house character. At 12% ABV, it presents a deep dark, nearly opaque profile driven by heavily roasted and caramelized malt. The nose is dominated by rich dark chocolate and surprising banana esters, a hallmark of the secondary fermentation. On the palate, intense cocoa and espresso notes are softened by a voluptuous mouthfeel and a balanced, lingering sweetness. Appearance. Jet black and opaque with a large, persistent head of light brown foam and significant lacing.
