This classic Irish Stout presents a refined sensory balance, led by the sharp, clean bite of Roasted Barley. Highlighting high-quality Irish Barley, the profile is defined by deep espresso and unsweetened cocoa notes, accented by a subtle, fruity fermentation ester. The presence of earthy hops provides a fresh breeze that counters the dark grain intensity. It finishes with a signature bittersweet snap, leaving a dry, lingering roasted grain impression that is both bold and remarkably drinkable.
Appearance. Jet black to the eye but reveals deep garnet highlights when held to light (35-40 SRM). It forms a thick, creamy, tan-colored head with good persistence and lacing; opaque clarity.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity dominated by coffee-like roasted grain and dark cocoa. Subtle fruity esters, reminiscent of dark berries, are present alongside a low, earthy hop aroma.
Taste. Initial impression is of sharp espresso and toasted grain. The palate features unsweetened chocolate and dry crackers from the Irish Barley, balanced by a medium-high hop bitterness. It is characterized by a bittersweet profile that leads into a very dry, clean, and lingering coffee-like finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with moderate carbonation that provides a crisp, refreshing bite. It is remarkably smooth with only a very light roasted grain astringency and a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
