This decadent Double Milk Stout presents a luxurious sensory experience, evolving from the legacy of the Vanilla Black Velvet. The aroma is dominated by rich vanilla and sweet lactose, layered over deep notes of dark chocolate and roasted coffee. On the palate, a velvety sweetness from the massive lactose addition coats the tongue, harmonizing with bittersweet cocoa and subtle hints of dried plums. Despite its strength, the alcohol provides a smooth, integrated warmth rather than a sharp bite. The finish is long and indulgent, defined by a lingering creaminess and a gentle roasted bitterness that prevents the Imperial Stout from becoming cloying.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40 SRM). Pours with a thick, dense, deep tan head that shows moderate retention and leaves significant oily legs on the glass, indicating high viscosity and alcohol content.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics of sweet vanilla bean and creamy lactose. Beneath the sweetness lies a complex malt profile of dark chocolate, toasted bread, and espresso. Low dark fruit esters of raisin and prune are present, with a clean, subtle alcohol presence and no perceptible hop aroma.

Taste. Initial impression is very sweet and creamy, driven by the significant lactose addition and prominent vanilla. Mid-palate reveals layers of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa powder, and charred malt. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as lower due to the high residual sugar. The finish is sweet and lingering with a velvety chocolate-milk character and soft alcoholic warmth.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a thick, chewy, and luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the creamy, milkshake-like mouthfeel. A smooth, gentle alcohol warmth is noticeable but well-integrated without being hot.
