This Imperial Stout presents a commanding sensory profile, blending a massive malty experience with the sophisticated nuances of Scottish Whisky. Jet black and viscous, it opens with a dense aroma of dark chocolate, espresso, and molasses, underscored by the unmistakable scent of spirit-soaked oak chips and vanilla. The palate is a luxurious tapestry of bittersweet cocoa, black licorice, and dried figs, transitioning into a silky sip that carries the depth of the whisky infusion. Earthy hop bitterness provides necessary balance to the scorched sugar sweetness, leading into a long, warming finish of toasted wood and dark-roasted grains.

Appearance. Jet black (40 SRM) and completely opaque. A thick, deep tan head provides moderate retention with persistent lacing. Prominent legs are visible on the glass, indicating high viscosity and alcohol content.

Aroma. High intensity with complex layers of roasted grain, bittersweet chocolate, and heavy espresso. Prominent esters of prunes and black currants. The Scottish Whisky infusion contributes distinct notes of toasted oak, vanilla, and a hint of honeyed spirit, without sharp alcohol heat.

Taste. Assertive initial flavors of dark-roasted malt, licorice, and molasses. A firm hop bitterness (60-70 IBU context) balances the residual malt sweetness. The whisky-soaked oak chips impart woody tannins and a subtle peat character, melding into a rich mid-palate of raisins and cocoa. The finish is lingering and moderately dry, characterized by roast and warmth.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a velvety, chewy, and luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth is noticeable and pleasant throughout the sip.
