Grugg & Makk is a company founded by two Icelandic designers in 2022 that produces Icelandic wild ales. The wild ale from Grugg & Makk derives its flavour characteristics from the microbial flora of Iceland. The ale is brewed with a special method based on the craftsmanship of the past and modern science.
The result is a range of drinks that highlight biodiversity and the role of microbes in the environment. Every single valley in the country, beach, field and mountain peak contains a unique microbial flora that constantly changes, depending on the time of day, the season - even the weather. When making the wild ale, Grugg & Makk has developed a method to capture a unique moment and put it in a bottle.
