This Hazy IPA showcases the vibrant potential of the Yakima 2024 Krush hop in a focused monovarietal expression. Pouring with a luminous, opaque glow, it immediately releases a high-intensity bouquet of tropical fruit. The sensory experience is dominated by saturated notes of ripe mango, guava, and citrus, underscored by a soft peach stone fruit character unique to Krush. A pillowy, medium-full body supports the hop saturation without harshness, while a restrained bitterness allows the juice-like fruit esters to shine. It finishes with a clean, bready malt backdrop and a lingering tropical afterglow, embodying a modern, fruit-forward profile.
Appearance. 3–6 SRM. Pale straw to light gold with a distinct, opaque haze creating a soft 'shine.' Topped with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head featuring excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet featuring mango, pink guava, and sweet peach. Background notes of orange zest and light bready malt. Fermentation is clean with supportive fruity esters that complement the Krush hop profile.
Taste. Explosive tropical fruit flavors of lychee and mango followed by stone fruit sweetness. Malt flavor is low and bready, providing a soft foundation. Low to medium-low perceived bitterness that remains smooth and never harsh. The finish is off-dry and juicy with a lingering tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Moderate carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Completely lacks astringency or harshness.
