This Hazy IPA pours with a vibrant tropical intensity, driven by a heavy-handed application of Citra and Vic Secret hops. The aroma is dominated by lush pineapple and ripe passion fruit, underscored by a distinctively dank, resinous note and a hint of fresh-cut grass. A foundation of Simpsons Malt Golden Promise provides a clean, lightly sweet, and bready backbone, while the addition of flaked oats creates an exceptionally soft, pillowy texture. The palate is super tropical and incredibly easy-drinking, balancing the fruit-forward hop character with a restrained bitterness and a smooth, juicy finish that highlights the complex biotransformation of these signature New World hops.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4 SRM) with an opaque, hazy glow. Features a dense, meringue-like white head with high retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent pineapple, passion fruit, and citrus notes. Secondary characters include a slight herbal dankness and fresh-cut grass. The malt presents a clean, bready, and lightly grainy character from the Golden Promise base. No DMS or diacetyl.
Taste. Massive tropical fruit flavors of pineapple and passion fruit lead the palate. The Golden Promise malt provides a supportive, slightly sweet, and bready graininess. Bitterness is low to medium-low, perceived as soft rather than sharp. The finish is off-dry and juicy with a lingering tropical hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and soft, pillowy texture from the flaked oats. Moderate carbonation with no astringency or harshness. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated.
