Gross Don’t Believe The Hype
This American IPA presents a vibrant sensory profile defined by its assertive hop character and clean, refreshing structure. A brilliant golden hue leads into a complex aromatic bouquet of zesty grapefruit, pine resin, and hints of tropical mango, supported by a subtle, grainy Pale base malt foundation. The palate is dominated by high bitterness that remains smooth, showcasing layered notes of citrus zest and earthy spice typical of New World hops. Its medium-light body and crisp, dry finish ensure high drinkability, while the 6.5% ABV provides a well-integrated, gentle warmth that rounds out the experience.
Appearance. Deep gold (approx. 8 SRM) with excellent clarity and a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent citrus, pine, and tropical fruit notes. Low, clean grainy maltiness from the Pale base malt supports the hops. Clean fermentation profile with no significant esters.
Taste. Hop-forward initial impression with high bitterness (IBU 40-70 context). Flavors of grapefruit rind, resin, and pine dominate a low, grainy malt backbone. Dry finish with a lingering, bitter aftertaste and clean fermentation character.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture and medium-high carbonation. No harshness or astringency, with a very light, smooth alcohol warmth consistent with 6.5% ABV.
