Gross Cosmicar is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a tropical masterclass through its signature hazy, hoppy protocol. The expressive house ale yeast works in tandem with heavy dry-hopping of Citra, Galaxy, and a touch of Sabro to deliver an olfactory punch of candied orange and zestful lime. The addition of flaked oats creates a lush, velvety backdrop for the primary sensory hook: a distinctive Piña colada profile of ripe pineapple and creamy coconut. This juice-forward ale balances high fruit intensity with a soft, pillowy texture, finishing with a gentle, restrained bitterness that keeps the focus entirely on the complex, New World hop character.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (4-6 SRM) with an opaque, uniform haze that creates a luminous shine. It supports a dense, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick, sculpted lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-driven bouquet featuring prominent notes of sweet pineapple, shredded coconut, and candied orange peel. Secondary aromas of fresh lime zest and subtle stone fruit emerge, supported by a neutral, lightly bready malt base and fruity yeast esters. No herbal or grassy notes are present.
Taste. A massive explosion of tropical fruit, led by Piña colada flavors and citrus marmalade. Citra provides bright lime and orange, while Sabro lends a creamy coconut depth. Malt flavors are low and grainy-sweet, serving as a platform for the hops. Bitterness is medium-low, perceived as soft and well-integrated. The finish is off-dry and exceptionally smooth, with lingering notes of tropical juice.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and soft, pillowy texture derived from the heavy use of oats. Carbonation is moderate. No hop-derived harshness or astringency is present, with only a very faint, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
