CALTHA is an intense Hazy IPA defined by a massive tropical bouquet. Citra and Galaxy hops lead the charge, delivering saturated notes of passion fruit, peach, and citrus. The use of a specialized tropical yeast blend amplifies these esters, creating a vibrant, juicy profile that dominates the senses. A grist featuring Pilsner malt and Golden Naked Simpson oats provides a soft, bready foundation and a characteristic haze, ensuring the hop intensity is balanced by a silky, substantial structure. The finish is remarkably smooth with a restrained bitterness, allowing the vibrant, fruit-forward character of the New World hops to linger.
Appearance. Straw to light gold with an opaque, luminous haze; a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head exhibits high retention and leaves thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring mango, passion fruit, and bright citrus; clean, bready malt presence is secondary to lush tropical esters from the yeast blend.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with pineapple and lime; neutral, grainy malt character with a hint of nuttiness. Low to medium bitterness with an off-dry, soft finish.
