Cada vez que fue destruida, fue reconstruida. Los monjes de Grimbergen tomaron el fénix como su símbolo, un signo de renacimiento perpetuo de su abadía, y adoptaron un lema en su honra: consumitur ncp Ardet , quemada, pero no destruida.
