Nerd Nectar is a luminous Hazy IPA that showcases an intense tropical profile through heavy New Zealand hopping. It opens with a punchy aroma of nectarine and peach rings, driven by a massive addition of Nectaron hops. The double dry-hopped process introduces Motueka, which contributes accent notes of ruby red grapefruit pith, papaya, and a hint of resiny dankness. On the palate, the experience is like a tropical fruit cocktail cup, featuring mango and stone fruit flavors supported by a soft, bready malt base. This beer offers a lush, tropical oasis experience with a silky finish and well-integrated 6.8% alcohol presence.
Appearance. Ranging from 4 to 6 SRM with a saturated gold to light orange hue; opaque haze with a luminous shine. Features a medium, meringue-like white head with high retention and substantial lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by nectarine, ripe peach, and mango. Secondary notes of grapefruit and papaya with a subtle resiny dankness. Malt is low and neutral, appearing as light bready grain; fermentation is clean and supportive of the hops.
Taste. High hop flavor echoing the aroma with fleshy stone fruit and tropical fruit cocktail. Nectaron provides a sweet peach and nectarine core, while Motueka adds a citrusy grapefruit edge. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft, balancing a low grainy malt character. The finish is off-dry and juicy with no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, smooth, and slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Contains a light, pleasant alcohol warmth without any astringency or raw starchiness.
