This Black IPA presents a dark, enigmatic profile where tropical fruit meets a restrained roasted backbone. The use of Bru-1 and Sabro hops creates a distinctive aromatic profile of ripe pineapple and creamy coconut, layered over subtle notes of milk chocolate and toasted bread. Despite its deep obsidian appearance, the palate remains remarkably agile, mirroring the drinkability of a standard American IPA. The bitterness is firm but clean, balancing the exotic fruit notes against a background of light roast and cedar. It finishes dry and crisp, leaving a lingering impression of tropical resins and dark malt.

Appearance. SRM 35–40; deep dark brown to opaque black. Thick, creamy, light tan head with excellent persistence and fine lacing. Generally clear, though appearing opaque due to depth of color.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring fresh pineapple and coconut, with secondary notes of tangerine and cedar. The malt profile offers low levels of baker's chocolate and toasted crust, without burnt or acrid tones. Clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial punch of tropical fruit, specifically pineapple and stone fruit, followed by a smooth, medium-low roasted malt flavor of chocolate and coffee. High hop bitterness that is firm but not harsh. The hops contribute a unique creamy coconut and herbal note mid-palate. Finishes dry with a light toasted aftertaste and lingering resin.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. No significant astringency from the dark malts.
