This Hazy IPA presents an intense sensory experience driven by a massive Citra dry hop, delivering vibrant notes of sweet orange, grapefruit, and tropical mango. The grist, featuring Pilsner malt alongside oats, wheat, and rye, establishes a soft, bready foundation with a hint of spicy complexity. During fermentation, the addition of clover honey integrates a delicate floral essence that lifts the fruit profile without adding cloying sweetness. Expect a lush, opaque appearance and a pillowy-soft mouthfeel typical of the style, where the Citra-derived citrus oils dominate the palate before finishing with a smooth, restrained bitterness and a clean, refreshing fruit-forward aftertaste.
Appearance. Straw to light golden color (SRM 3-5). Opaque and hazy with a luminous shine. Dense, white, meringue-like head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma with dominant Citra-derived notes of tangerine, mango, and lime. Clean, bready malt presence from the Pilsner malt, supported by a faint floral honey sweetness. Neutral fermentation profile with no yeast-derived phenols.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor featuring stone fruit and citrus. Low to medium malt flavor, tasting of fresh bread and grains from the wheat and oats, with a subtle rye spice. Perceived bitterness is low to moderate and soft. The clover honey lends an off-dry, juicy finish without being cloying.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy texture from the oats and wheat. Moderate carbonation. Smooth finish with a hint of alcohol warmth and no hop-derived astringency.
