Great Notion Brewing

This imposing Double IPA, a collaboration between Great Notion and Troon, delivers an explosive sensory experience driven by a massive dry-hop charge. The combination of Citra Cryo and Galaxy provides a saturated foundation of passion fruit and bright citrus oil, while Nectaron adds deep layers of ripe peach and nectarine. Bru-1 contributes a distinct pineapple sweetness that balances the robust 9.2% ABV. While the aroma is intense with tropical notes, the palate remains remarkably smooth, showcasing an extra hazy, hop-forward character. It is a powerful yet velvety showcase of modern New World hop intensity that hides its strength behind layers of fruit.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM); extra hazy to opaque with a dense, persistent, creamy white head and significant lacing.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pineapple, passion fruit, and peach. Supportive clean, doughy malt in the background with light citrus zest and a well-integrated, smooth alcohol sweetness.

Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors of ripe mango, pineapple, and citrus peel. Bitterness is firm but smooth, lacking any harshness or vegetal character. Low, bready malt support without caramel sweetness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering tropical fruit and light resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth that remains well-integrated; low hop-derived astringency.
